The brief history of the pizza

During my navigations on the web, I saw many times some comments about the pizza... which is the real one..., where it has been invented (I prefere to say "created")..., must be thin..., must be thick... and so on...

Here you will find the real version (proved) about the birth of the most popular dish in the World.

In the end of XIX century, during the visit of the Italian Royal Family in Naples, a baker, very proud to be invited to make special breads for a banquet, made as well a “pizza” using the most typical products of his place (fresh tomatoes, extra virgin olive oil, basil and mozzarella).

This strange bread was very appreciated by our King and, particularly, by our Queen, Margherita di Savoia, so, in Her honour, it was called “Pizza Margherita”.

In few months, the pizza became very popular, all the bakeries started to sell it in quarters take away.
…The first “fast food” was born…

The success of the pizza was a continuous escalation.

Until today is the dish preferred by millions of peoples around the world.

Actually there are many versions, sometimes ridiculous, many times no good (it’s no so simple to do) but the true pizza is and will be only one, the “Pizza Margherita” that is a must with mozzarella of bufala and grated (true) Parmigiano-Reggiano cheese.
